Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Emily Adams, a Conscious Creative Business Coach, based in Saint Petersburg, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a business coach who specializes in business growth. My customers are primarily coaches or those that offer a service-based product.

Tell us about yourself

I was born and raised in the Amish culture and left at seventeen. After I left the culture, I went and got my GED and later graduated from Purdue University, where I studied Organizational, Leadership, and Supervision.

I worked in the automotive industry for over a decade and in multiple different leadership roles, where I learned business planning, strategy, cost savings, and problem-solving skills. Along with having this experience and enjoying all things business, I made the decision to start helping other businesses. Being able to provide a transformation for a business is what motivates me, knowing I made an impact.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishments are helping others leave their 9 to 5 jobs and having a life full of freedom with a business that is growing and providing them with stability and security.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

All the decisions and radical responsibility it takes. It is no one else's fault or responsibility but yours as the owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. To start your business, make sure you have a strong plan and strategy to follow so that when obstacles come up, you can go back to the plan.
  2. To grow your business, get clear on where you are now and where you want to be. Then take massive action and don't get caught up in whether it is "right" or "wrong".
  3. To run a business, always run with integrity.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My email and messages are always open for those that are looking for support on their business.
