What's your business, and who are your customers?
I’m a private chef who creates a bespoke service and offers customers a fine dining experience in the comfort of their own homes. My clientele is people who appreciate good food, good wine, and hosting nice dinner parties.
Tell us about yourself
With many years of working in different restaurants, I realised I wasn’t able to connect and share my love for food with my clients. Coming from an Italian background and being bought up sitting around the table with family and friends, I also wanted to recreate that atmosphere for my clients. That’s why I became a private chef, to give my customers the ultimate service in their own homes.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner and also as a chef was coming out of my comfort zone and challenging myself to succeed where I wanted to be.
Today after almost two years from the start, I finally established my business and created a large number of clients.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest things for me as a business owner were coming to England from Italy and not speaking the language, also not having enough capital to start, but despite the difficulties, I’ve persevered and never gave up.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The best three tips I could give to new business owners and entrepreneurs are:
- Always believe in yourself and in the business you want to open.
- Never give up. Even if you fall, pick yourself up and keep going.
- Trying is better than not fulfilling your dreams.
