Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Elvira Cabreja, a trauma-informed success coach based in Valley Stream, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help impact-driven women transform limiting patterns to reach their full potential of peace, purpose, and prosperity. Using my unique technique of trauma-informed processes with energy psychology for deep and rapid transformation, which allows them to make sense of life events, habits, and themselves, and that will allow them to live fully self-expressed.

Tell us about yourself

I’m a wife, a mom of 4, a businesswoman, and so much more. I wear many hats, and with that comes a lot of expectations and pressure from myself and others. Before fully embracing this journey, I felt overwhelmed, stuck, and frustrated trying to be and do everything that comes with these roles. The problem was that I forgot the number one person that needed some TLC to handle what these roles come with… ME.

Realizing this and not willing to give up on any of these roles and the desires associated with them, I knew I needed to take care of myself, I just didn’t know how. I didn’t have great models to replicate so I knew I needed to be guided and lead. I reached out for help, and my world changed. I realized how hard I’ve been on myself and how much I was demanding of myself, and I was depleted. The help I obtained gave me a new sense of hope and a whole lot of tools to be able to handle the life that I had and wanted to create. I finally made sense of me! I began to feel the peace that I was so desperately seeking.

As I embodied more of myself, my purpose and gifts started shining even brighter. I realized that I was meant to help other women make sense of themselves so that they can embody who they truly are and be fully self-expressed in all areas of their life. And because women tend to be the anchors of their families, I love that as I help one woman, I am helping every single person she comes in contact with, especially her spouse and kids. The ripple effect that occurs when a woman begins to feel at peace with herself and begins to fully self-express is incredibly inspiring. And because of this, I am so very passionate to continue to help women elevate so that we can make a positive, long-lasting impact on the world and the next generations to come.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is breaking generational patterns in my family by doing the uncomfortable work and embracing all of me. I am showing my kids that you can build a profitable business by being you and following your innate gifts. This is a priceless lesson that I am teaching them through action.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner for me is balancing all my roles without forgetting about myself. I believe that living a values-led life, knowing and taking care of my needs first, and having support is what allow me to continue on this evolutionary journey of being a business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get to know YOU! You are your greatest asset! You have an immense amount of wisdom and innate gifts that can help make the journey much easier because you just have to strengthen what you already have if you choose to embody it.
  2. Do your internal work, which includes learning to self-regulate! This is where learning about the wisdom your emotions carry, your nervous system, and learning how to regulate yourself will be super handy. The journey comes with many unforeseen curveballs, and the ones that embrace the waves of life will be the ones that will not only enjoy the ride but will also feel fulfilled through it.
  3. Have high-quality connections! The closest people to you are incredibly important. Make sure you have people that are cheering you on even though they may not fully understand what you are trying to do. The closest people to you should be making you shine brighter!
