What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are engaged in creating delicious Vegan and non-gluten products. Specifically, our Vegan Biscotti are extremely popular for many reasons, but the main reason is that they taste amazing, and "you would never know they are vegan!!" In fact, we dare anyone to try one and tell us that this product is not more delightfully tasteful than a "normal" biscotti. Our customers are people that are looking for superior products in the vegan space. This can often be a challenge, and there is a stereotype that Vegan products lack taste and appeal. We have successfully broken that stereotype.
Tell us about yourself
The idea for Vegan products first started when I was repeatedly challenged with the notion that Vegan products are not tasteful. So I decided to create over a period of 5 years a decadent biscotti that would literally when tasted, would create a "this can't be Vegan" response. My daily motivation comes from spreading the word about our product and continuing to surprise with the flavour and appeal of our products.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My single biggest accomplishment is having a passion for seeing how people respond when they taste our products; therefore, that accomplishment is what drives me and my business to keep marching forward.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is knowing that you have a great product that people will enjoy and come up with ways to get people to taste and become knowledgeable of your product.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a passion for what you do.
- Understand that there will be bumpy roads and lots of challenges.
- Seek out Mentors and people that have done what you are trying to do and listen to their advice and direction.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
We are a strong believer in giving back to our community. When you purchase any product from us, we give a portion of our monthly sales to Youth Without Shelter. With your help, we are able to provide monthly meals to youth struggling to find a place they can call home.
