What's your business, and who are your customers?

Catering - We cater to the public, weddings, private events, and private chef dinners. My clientele is 98% women.

Tell us about yourself

I attended school at Fleming College here in Peterborough. Worked at a beautiful B&B fresh out of school, where I began my apprenticeship. Moved on to Ste Anne’s Spa and completed my apprenticeship, and became red seal certified.

Took a period of time off and decided to go into business for myself. I wanted to share what I could do with food for others but was limited. Now there are no limits as I can offer anything I can desire.

Motivation comes from building my dream. I have wanted to run my own business for a long time, and for once, I had the opportunity and jumped right on it. Offering not only food but an experience to challenge myself, Clientele reactions and joy, and feedback.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a successful business that only includes my unique creations from start to no end.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You work 24/7. It can be difficult to balance life and work.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Ensure you are 110% committed
  2. Stay consistent
  3. Be passionate
  4. Ensure you are ready to do whatever it may take, as you will be making very difficult decisions.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Starting Elegant Edged Catering is by far my greatest decision, and I could not imagine doing anything else.
