Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Eric Anthony Bush, owner of Electric Sliders, located around Scottsdale and Los Angeles, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a gourmet slider food truck that specializes in high-quality food and an experience worth telling your friends about. The love and dedication we put into prepping the food for our guests are unparalleled, and you can see it on their faces when they take the first bite. The quality of food and the experience you receive while dining with us sets us apart from any other dining establishment you visit.

Tell us about yourself

I’m a person that loves putting smiles on faces, so the hospitality industry was just a fit for me. After managing several multi-million dollar restaurants, I was confident in my ability to run my own business. Every day I wake up and think to myself, how much more can I do as a business owner, not only for myself but for my three sons. My boys are everything to me and the main reason for all of this. Whatever success I have, I attribute it to them and my family.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I take extreme pride in the fact that our guests trust us to host their weddings, birthdays, and any of their private events. We have been partnered with NASCAR for two years and have had Electric Sliders on three-team cars with BJ McLeod Motorsports. As a kid, I would watch NASCAR every Saturday, so to see my business on cars driving around the track will always be pretty amazing, next up NBA arenas.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the biggest challenges is overthinking your process and decisions. I highly suggest not to overthink your choices and ideas for your business. No one sees your vision but you; just go and put everything you have behind your decisions, trust me, if you believe in yourself, people will believe in you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don’t stop; no matter how difficult things may get, keep your confidence in the decision you made to run your business. You will have an end goal and never let anything stop you from getting there.
  2. Promote your business on all platforms. There are so many free resources for you to get your business noticed; use them.
  3. Stay consistent with your product and service; if you can maintain consistency, the sky is the limit. Word of mouth really is powerful.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

When you're starting your business, you have to understand there are no shortcuts to success. If you put your head down and work hard, success will come, be ready for it and be ready to scale. If you think ten steps ahead of where you're at, you'll be surprised how quickly it will come, remember it's a marathon, not a race. Keep going!
