Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Eilen Klev, a holistic career and business coach, based in Oslo, Norway.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I work as a holistic career and business coach, helping my clients reconnect with who they are and what they truly want. Every profession should focus on creating a career that fits WHO YOU ARE rather than trying to fit in. Each of us is unique. When we can be in a job that fits who we are, our authentic personality, we will not only do better but also have more joy and ease. Our career will be more sustainable and rewarding.

My ideal clients are 37+ highly educated women who have come to a phase in their careers where they feel a bit stuck and demotivated. They have lost their spark. They might feel they do not fit in anymore. They long to make a difference and might also long to do something else with their career, but they do not know what and might feel that they are too old to try new things. They often lack a bit of self-esteem and self-confidence.

Tell us about yourself

During the last 11 years, I have worked as a business and career coach inspiring over 20,000 employees, job seekers, and entrepreneurs to reconnect to their spark, find their uniqueness and authentic voice, and build a career that is more true to who they are.

Previously, I worked in the corporate world as a branding expert. I have a Master of Branding with over 18 years of experience in communication and branding from various design agencies and more extensive international companies.

After many years of helping my clients build strong brands, I lost the spark. The job lost its meaning. I longed for authenticity and experienced too much of the opposite. We were building brands, but we needed to be authentic brands. I could not find joy anymore, and I knew I had to find another career, but I did not know what or how. That was the start of an exciting journey of personal development that led me to coach, therapy, intuition, and spirituality. I have several educations and certifications in coaching and various forms of treatment.

I am a certified NLP coach level 3 (Neurolinguistic Programming) and a Platinum Professional Coach. I have different certifications in tapping modalities like TFT (Thought Field Therapy) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). I have Reiki level 3 and am trained and certified as a Hypnotherapist and Regression Therapist. I am a certified Energy Alignment Mentor (EAM). In addition, I am newly certified as a Quantum Human Design Expert (level 3).

I love helping my clients explore who they are and the unique and authentic parts of who they are. I enjoy helping them let go of thoughts and emotions that are holding them back from being accurate. I love to see them find their spark and joy and create the career and life that will make their heart sing. Everyone has a voice that the world needs. Sometimes we need a little help to see it for ourselves and truly embrace our difference.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have inspired over 20,000 employees, job seekers, and entrepreneurs to reconnect to their spark, find their voice, and build careers that align more with who they are. I have written the books: "Be Unique. How to Enhance Your Brand" and "33 lies you believe in that are preventing your success".

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, the most challenging thing was being visible, just being me, especially on video. As a branding expert, I could be more visible. I could hide behind a company name where I was just one of many. When starting my own company, I was the only one. I could not hide behind a big company name – the company was me. I am also an introvert, so overcoming resistance around being so visible on different channels has given me some valuable insight.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you build your business around something that feels authentic for you. If not, it will not be successful and sustainable in the long run.
  2. Remember, if YOU are the brand, you need to build an authentic brand – if not, you will create a prison. You are more than good enough being just who you are. You do not need to be somebody else. Find your authentic voice.
  3. Ask for help if it is difficult to be visible and authentic. You should upgrade and align your thoughts and emotions so they do not hold you back or keep you stuck.
