What's your business, and who are your customers?

Ebonie Cosbert Coaching Co. is a personal growth and professional development coaching firm that helps women learn, lead, and live like the CEO of their lives.

Tell us about yourself

I am a Navy Veteran and a Former Healthcare Professional with over 15 years of work experience in the federal government. On the outside, I looked really successful. I had a great job and was good at what I did. My work life was good until it wasn't anymore.

One day I woke up and realized:

• "I can't do this anymore."
• I was underutilized and underleveraged.
• I had all the certifications, all the education, done all the things, and checked all the boxes with nowhere else to go in my career.

Which left me:

• Thinking that I've worked too hard to throw away my education and experience.
• Feeling stuck and miserable.

What I came to see was:

• I was REALLY scared to move forward.
• I was afraid of how my family would react to my wanting to quit my "good job" and pursue a dream that gave me purpose and meaning. So, I set out to master my coaching skills and shift to a place of purpose; I:
• Trained and became a certified coach, trainer, and speaker.
• Hired the best leadership and business development leaders and coaches in the industry.
• Studied and learned how to create and sustain a profitable business.
As a result:
• I became a sought-after certified professional and executive coach.
• I have an amazing business that I love.

My daily motivators:

~The freedom and flexibility of my business
~Helping women break free from mistakes that keep them stuck and providing them with tools that level the playing field and help their families thrive.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being recognized and nominated for several awards in the coaching industry:
• 2021 Rated one of the Top 20 Coaches in Jacksonville, FL
• 2022 ACHI Magazine Award Nominee for Master Coach of the Year
• 2022 ACHI Magazine Award Nominee for Woman of Influence
• 2022 Most Influential Businesswomen's Transformation Coach

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

If you are a solopreneur, feeling isolated can be one of the hardest things to manage as a business owner. It's crucial to stay connected to success-minded people, lean on your support system (family and friends), and engage in regular self-care.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Identify your expectations and list the pros and cons of starting, running, and growing your business. What are some of the challenges you will face in your business? Map out your business (schedule, hours, part-time, full-time).
  2. Identify your business sweet spot (the place where your skills and talents overlap with the needs of a specific market or ideal client). Get clear on the problems you will help your clients solve.
  3. Create an offer that solves your client's needs.
