Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Scott Patterson, franchise owner of Eat the Frog Fitness - Charlotte, located in Charlotte, NC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are the most personalized group fitness training available. We are open 24 hours a day and have some of the most qualified fitness coaches in Charlotte. We design your personal training program for you with your goals in mind, allowing us to work with people of all fitness levels.

Tell us about yourself

I have been a lifelong athlete and fitness enthusiast. Leaving corporate America to pursue my own business, we examined many franchise opportunities and felt Eat the Frog would be the best opportunity for our family.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Surviving the government shutdown due to COVID. We opened in Nov of 2019 and were forced to close in March 2020, which made for an extremely difficult launch.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You are responsible for everything. Selling to cleaning, advertising to paying bills. When payroll comes due, there are people counting on you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Be ready to work harder than ever. Choose something you have a passion for. Take care of the people- employees, vendors, and customers.
