Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and supplements but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Paige Feddersohn, Founder of Earth & Elle, located in San Marcos, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a vegan and cruelty-free supplement brand. We help women live vibrant, confident, and healthy lives. We have a variety of supplements that help your hair, skin, and nails. Our customers are anyone who wants to live a healthier life or have healthier hair, skin, and nails.

Tell us about yourself

I used to be a personal trainer and yoga teacher. I absolutely loved helping people! But it wasn't what I wanted to do long term. I started drop shipping in 2020 and really fell in love with e-commerce! I knew I wanted to create my own brand. I spent months researching different niches to sell in, and nothing seemed to interest me until I stumbled upon supplements. It all just hit me, and I knew this was something I wanted to commit myself to. What motivates me daily is creating something that betters people's lives and being able to design my life around something I truly love doing.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say my biggest accomplishment was when I started drop shipping. We did $50k in revenue in my first month! It was crazy. It was the 4th of July, and I was at the beach with my friends. My phone kept blowing up with orders we could barely keep up with the demand. 4th of July alone, we did $8k! I ended up hiring a team to take over the store for me as I still had a job. I made twice as much as I did at my 9 -5 through e-commerce while I still had a job.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Having to constantly stay positive and motivated when things are not going your way and when you have bills to pay and your business isn't at the point where you can live off of it yet.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start today. Just do it! Figure it out as you go. Nobody in business has a roadmap to success. We are all figuring it out one day at a time.
  2. Believe in yourself through the tough times. Lean on friends and family when you need it. Don't forget to take care of yourself.
  3. Be open to pivoting. Don't get too emotionally attached to one idea or concept, or else you will be subconsciously ignoring the red flags. Keep your emotions out of it so you can make the right decisions.
