What's your business, and who are your customers?
Dutch Boys Chocolate Inc. produces a wide line of Chocolate Confections unique in every way. The confections come in the shape of birds, crustaceans, dogs, cats, and a myriad of beautiful animal portraits on Chocolate Medallions. The chocolate confections are all of the highest quality Belgian dark Chocolate of Medium Sweetness.
Tell us about yourself
Cor Boon and Henry Noestheden came together as a friend after retiring to found their company and study the Chocolate industry. With a carefully prepared business plan, they started their business at the end of 2016.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Dutch Boys Chocolate was awarded the "Jimmie Award" by Jim Buyers, the Travel Writer for the Toronto Daily Star at that time. The Award was for "Best Chocolate in Canada" and provided the buying public the assurance that they were buying the best.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Doing what you say you're going to do and then actually doing it. This means following a precise plan for your business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, do your research and then write a detailed plan for your new business. The Business Plan is an essential tool for new businesses and a must for your plan to succeed.

Dutch Boys Chocolate is in the final stages of selling the Corporation to new owners, a well-qualified couple from nearby Amherstburg. The new owners promise to maintain the high-quality Dutch Boys Chocolate is known for.
