What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is a home bakery. I bake gourmet cookies. My customer base is everyone and anyone who enjoys the perfect cookie treat.
Tell us about yourself
I am a mother and wife who was unfortunately unable to work during covid. My family has always had a love for cookies. During the holiday season, I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies and brought them to my family's house, and I couldn't believe how much everyone loved them.
Joking, I said I should sell them, but honestly, I was afraid of rejection, so I let that idea go. Til a few weeks later, my kids convinced me and gave me enough courage to just try it. Here we are today. My family is my entire motivation, but also, the confidence my business has given me is a gift I didn't expect.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner as of right now has to be bringing happiness to people's faces when they taste my cookies.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest part of being a business owner is that you don't have real work hours. Your work day is all day and every day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
If you are looking to start a business, my tips would be:
- Research. Make sure your product is well received by your community.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help. You never know what you might learn just by asking.
- The best tip I can give is always to stay positive and manifest success!
