Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Candie Gutierrez, Owner of Drizzle Dips, located in Columbus, OH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is about sweet treats and salty snacks. My customers are anyone who loves buckeyes, popcorn, or hot cocoa bombs.

Tell us about yourself

In 2019, I wanted to make fresh on-site caramel apples and chocolate-covered bananas. Then COVID changed everything. There were no more festivals. So I revamped my business and began making buckeyes, fudge, flavored popcorn, and hot chocolate bombs, and I have stayed with these products ever since. I love making goodies and snacks that people love!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment would be revamping my products during COVID. I found that by doing these products, I can reach more customers now that my products are in several local stores.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Keeping up with the demand. I work a full-time job, and I am a part-time realtor. Keeping up with the demand is difficult at times. I love making these products, so it is a true labor of love.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Time management is so important. Also, find something you love to do, but don't be afraid to try new products to see how you and your customers like it.
