We're Monday - a pioneer brand in the burgeoning non-alcoholic beverage category serving premium spirits to consumers demanding cocktails without compromise that support modern, work hard, play hard lifestyles.
Tell us about yourself
I'm 22 years into my professional experience spanning multiple industries and interests - the common thread being work that moves ideas, products, and services forward that are good for the world.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Tough question! Off the cuff, perhaps since its most recent, I'm proud of building Monday to its current state - from a fledgling start-up to one of the leaders of the emerging non-alcohol beverage category with over $9M in lifetime sales and helping over 130,000 customers take a break from alcohol as they pursue a healthier lifestyle.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There's nothing easy about being an entrepreneur/founder/business owner. I believe everyone will have their own take on what is one of the harder pieces, but I'd say that, despite the rush of activities to perform and the 'always-on' mentality, it can be surprisingly lonely at times. I definitely recommend finding some other founders or business owners that may be in a similar phase of their growth journey to connect with to ensure you have some support (and can provide some as well).
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be rock solid on your 'why,' or reason for taking this audacious path. The road won't be easy, and when times are particularly tough, you'll want to reflect on your 'why' to help you push through.
- Build a gritty, high-performance team that's better than you at what they do. You'll start off wearing all the hats of the business, and the objective is to release those burdens one-by-one to team members who can outperform your best efforts. They'll be empowered to run with their wheelhouse talents, and you'll be freed up to spend more time growing the business (win-win).
- Never stop fundraising. This is an always-on part of the job and an area that needs constant gardening to ensure your company has the funds needed to fuel your big plans and ambitious goals.
