Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lynda Quach, owner of Dreamy Beauty Bar, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Dreamy Beauty Bar is an establishment that offers a variety of beauty services for all who share the same desire to enhance beauty and confidence. We offer the highest quality of services, knowing that our clients will feel their best, leaving our studio feeling good about themselves.

Tell us about yourself

Having a passion for beauty since I was a teenager has led me to choose my profession in this industry. I started my business as a freelancer in 2007 and transitioned into having my own studio. I focus on the goal of staying current with the latest trends by attending accredited courses and learning new skills to add more services to the business. Be sure to celebrate the small wins and look out for daily inspirations as a motivation for growth and development.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being in a competitive industry for 15years and seeing impressive growth in clientele. I am happy to say that I did not allow myself to get distracted or challenged by competitors. It can be so hard to stay focused on your business goals and not waste time on things that you cannot control.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Dealing with the unknowns. Every day there will be new challenges and obstacles to deal with. Business is never predictable, no matter how prepared you are.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The first step in starting a business is figuring out what you want it to be.
Writing a business plan helps formalize your idea and can streamline the business-creation process by getting you to sit down and think things through methodically. As you fulfill the daily duties of running your small business, be mindful, present, appreciative, and most importantly, enjoy all of what you are building towards.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Always deliver more than expected.
