What's your business, and who are your customers?
Dream Saffron is a local, small, family business based in California. We are providing the very best Afghan Saffron for your delicious delicacies. This Saffron is organically grown. We also ensure the Saffron we provide is hand-harvested and contains no additives to ensure that you get that naturally pleasing flavor in the food you crave. We provide this Saffron in several different weight denominations to suit the needs of everyone that wants to buy from us. You can get the Dream Saffron products in denominations of 1 gram, 2 grams, 5 grams, 10 grams, 20 grams, and 28 grams.
Tell us about yourself
After many years of suffering from mild depression and trying most medications, I've received a suggestion from a friend to try one cup of saffron tea every day. I was skeptical about it, but I tried it anyway. To my surprise, after two weeks, I saw the result! I felt better, and my energy level was rising. It was terrific that adding a pinch of Saffron could give me the effect I have been searching for for years. After seeing the effect of this fantastic and most expensive spice and reading articles about the benefits of Saffron, I thought that sharing my experiences with others may help them too. That's the start of our story and our company. My wife and I decided to buy the Saffron directly from the farmers and help people who suffer from depression. Buying Saffron directly from the farmers allowed us to sell our customers the best quality saffron at a better price.
Dream saffron was founded in 2019 in Indio as a local small business in the hope of helping people in our community. Saffron tea has an easy recipe. All you need is a cup of hot water with a pinch of Saffron. You can add any sweeteners of your choice if you prefer. Our company is dedicated to bringing the best quality of Saffron directly from the farmers and, by doing so, helping our farmer's community to a better life with no mediator involved. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping our farmers sell their products directly to the market during the pandemic was one of my biggest accomplishments for 2020-2022. I am most proud of the fact that we survived the pandemic, expanded, and retained the quality of our small business. Also, contributing a small portion of our revenue to the people in need in Afghanistan is another accomplishment of our small business. We hope to expand and contribute more to our farmers and their families.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being a business owner comes with advantages and disadvantages. One of the most challenging business owner tasks is dealing with the unknown. Every day brings new challenges and obstacles to deal with. Also, being a business owner means you must be on 24/7. That means you must sacrifice some family time to be responsive to your customers and their needs. The last but not least challenge is to find reliable people to work with. Finding people who are experts in social media and advertising is very challenging for small businesses as they are on a budget and have to be very meticulous about spending money.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- First, know what you want, your goals and vision, and your expectations of being a business owner.
- Second, find reliable people with experience willing to share what they have learned in their years as entrepreneurs.
- Lastly, know your numbers, be realistic about your budgets, and have enough money to get through the first three-four years without making any profit. Do not get discouraged. Keep pushing until you get where you want to be.
