Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Susie Gronski, founder of Dr. Susie Gronski, Inc., located in Asheville, NC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Accounting for nearly two million doctor visits per year in the United States, countless men experience pain 'down there' with little to no help. Endless specialists, traumatic medical experiences, failed treatments, pain with erections, and the incessant search for a cure leave no time (or energy) for fun in the bedroom.

Sexual health, intimacy, and pain are all intertwined. It is no surprise that this clinical enigma leaves men feeling socially isolated and hopeless. My business supports men seeking pain care for their most intimate parts and empowers them to tool up on resources to help them reconnect with their sexual identity and pain-free pleasure!

Tell us about yourself

My passion for men's pelvic health began nearly a decade ago. After opening my private practice (which was in Illinois and focused mostly on women's health), I had men reach out asking if I could help them with similar symptoms (pain with sex, pain with sitting, bladder pain, testicle, penis pain, etc.). These brave men who didn't give up and who had the courage to reach out to me for help motivated me to be an advocate for men in the realm of pelvic health. It was clear to me that space for pelvic and sexual health for men was desperately missing.

I am a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner, and a certified Sex Counselor and Educator.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Writing a book! Pelvic Pain the Ultimate Cock Block: A no-bullshit guide for men navigating through pelvic pain (Updated Edition).

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Public relations and marketing outreach.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. There will never be a "best time" to open a business. You just have to dive in and go for it!
  2. Be genuine and authentic as a business. People recognize this.
  3. Operate your business with your mind at your heart. Building trust helps builds relationships.
