What's your business, and who are your customers?
Donna J Skincare is an all-natural, anti-aging, and non-toxic skincare company that helps women who are starting to see the signs of aging on their skin.
Tell us about yourself
I created an all-natural, anti-aging, non-toxic skincare company to correct my own skin. I was tired of looking older than I was, and I hated looking in the mirror. The wrinkles and sagging were that bad. I tried all the popular brands of skincare, but nothing worked. I decided to take matters into my own hands, to learn how the skin works, what happened to mine, and how to correct it. And I did! I used our bestselling product RECOVER Anti-Aging Serum for three months when a friend asked if I had a facelift. I am motivated to help women look and feel amazing. I never want another woman to feel as crappy about herself when she looks in the mirror as I did. The bottom line is that when we look in the mirror and like what we see, we show up in life in a big way. When we don't like what we see, sometimes we just don't show up at all.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is when someone tells me they feel good about what they see in the mirror.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
People become married to their skincare, but the skincare that they've been using for 10 or 20 years is no longer supporting their skin. The hardest thing is to explain that as we age, our skin changes, and so should be your skincare.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be extremely confident in what you do.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help about things you don't know.
- Get up every morning and move toward your goals.
