What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help women entrepreneurs build their dream businesses by working with them to believe in themselves and to create smart strategic steps and a strong foundation. I also help small business owners create stronger teams through strength-based assessment team building.
My customers are women entrepreneurs thinking of starting a business or in the early phases (1-2 years) and also small business owners who wish to improve team communication and increase productivity and revenue.
Tell us about yourself
I worked for several years at a women's business center where the mission was to help women turn their dreams into business or to help them grow and sustain an existing business.
When I moved geographically, I took that passion, skill, and experience and founded my own company coaching similar women. What motivates me each day is knowing I am helping women achieve their dreams in very practical and tactical ways.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I coached my very first client almost five years ago, and that started my calling. She found such value in our time together that she asked me to be part of her advisory team. At the time, she had no employees and few clients.
I am still on her advisory team, and she now has three full-time employees, one part-timer, one intern, and several clients. Most importantly, she is finally able to pay herself as well as her employees! I am honored to be part of her journey to success.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Trying to be all things to all people and to keep all the balls in the air. Also, keeping the pipeline full so revenue is steady.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start Smart with a strong foundation, a clear vision that you work backward, and a powerful but magnetic message to the right audience that needs what you offer.
- Know when and to whom to delegate.
- Surround yourself with smart people that have been where you are and then learn from them.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I believe women can change the world with consistent action, encouragement, belief, and one small business at a time.
