What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a luxury lash salon in the beautiful downtown Oakville core. Stepping into our salon, you will instantly feel like royalty. The environment will have you relaxed and rejuvenated, and your lashes will never have looked better! At Dollface, every client is our number one priority. You won't regret coming to the Dollhouse!
Tell us about yourself
I started Dollface in my basement and created a company that I felt was missing in the industry. Something luxurious and relaxing. A place for you to look and feel your best. A place to create deep connections and feel like you're in your home away from home. It worked, and we moved into a salon within six months and continued to grow from there. Every day since then has been a blessing! My clients become my friends, and nothing makes me and the other stylists happier than making our friends happy! It's not work. I just love it too much.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Surviving the pandemic and coming out stronger. It has been an exhausting and extremely hard two years, but the lessons were worth it. I've never felt more confident in my business!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Never really getting a break! People think owning a business means you get all this time off. It's 24/7. Finding the work/life balance is a challenge, but I'm working on it every day!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do it even though you're scared. There will never be a perfect time. Take the leap, and learn as you go/grow!
- Stay true to your vision. No one else will ever see it as you do, so don't let others' opinions throw you off your path.
- Don't give up. If you stay strong and do everything with love and good intentions, things will always work out. It will be a bumpy road, trust me, but there's a lesson in every bump. Keep going. It's worth it!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I wouldn't be here without the family and friends who supported and believed in me. Find your people, and let them help. We all win if we help each other rise ❤️
