Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Justin Sherrer, Owner and Chef of Doce Provisions, located in Miami, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Doce Provisions is a modern Cuban restaurant concept; we use local, high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques, and our guests are a mix of locals and tourists, many of whom have seen us on Guy Fieri’s Diners Drive-ins and Dives.

Tell us about yourself

Both my wife Lisetty Llampalla and I started as Chefs many years; we now enjoy being able to serve guests great food in our own restaurant.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We were very happy to be featured on Guy Fieris DDD after less than a year in business!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Balancing life and running a popular restaurant is a challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Work in the business as an employee for as many years as it takes, learn every position, and make sure you love it! Then start small, but try to do it yourself without partners interrupting your creativity.
