Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Elle Nagy, Founder of Direction You, Ltd., located in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Direction You is a Rempowerment dynasty working with business leaders to stop fearing fear so they can focus their energy on legacy creation.

I am the only self-leadership virtuoso who utilizes an innovative, ground-breaking model for (r)evolutionary business leaders, disruptive creatives, and pioneers in consciousness around the world who want to stop fearing fear in an age where so many are expending energy around fear which they don't have to do.

My vision is for all independently thinking business leaders to create a sense of liberation, freedom, unheard-of creativity, and joy in their lives and the lives of all they touch. I'm on a mission to Re-empower disruptors of the status quo to unleash and reclaim their power!

  • Building iconic legacies.
  • Becoming self-actualized and transcendent.
  • Creating life on their terms.
  • In this, we embody a new world conscious of Divine Love, Truth, Prosperity, and Intentionality.

Tell us about yourself

I was born to be an entrepreneur. My first business venture was in the food industry, where I co-owned a restaurant by the age of 23. After that, I started a recruitment company that grew from zero to six figures in less than a year - this was back in the days before social media - after three years, I sold it and found my true calling in the art of professional development.

For the past two decades, I've had the immense privilege to work with leaders, innovators, creatives, and influencers described as inclusive, humanitarian, disruptive, value-focused, and energetic. In this, I've discovered the core theme of fears at play in our society spanning back more than 3000 years and created a structured archetypal blueprint to outgrow this consciousness into true and lasting power.

As with any business, there's been a continuous theme of evolution, first from within me and then reflected in the business itself, which is how I reached a point today where I'm known as The Fear Maven - working beside the pioneers, dissidents, and icons of disruption to be legendary!

I am inspired each day by the incredible people I get to meet in this adventure called life. To witness their dreams come to fruition as I support them to tap into their true identities from where they align with ultimate potential and make the world a better place for us all by living one legacy at a time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Celebrating my 16th year in business has been tremendous. I started in a little room in Johannesburg, South Africa, with nothing more than a calling and a phone. Today I'm living an incredible life in a magical town called Pegasus in the heart of New Zealand with clients in the US, Canada, Uganda, Ireland, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and more.

My book on Self-Leadership is due for publication in December 2022. More than all of this, though, is the lives I've touched through my work and the impact on my client's businesses and personal choices.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's no secret that it can be lonely at the top, especially when you're playing in a pioneering space. Often people don't understand this high level of visionary ability or the speed at which we process and act, which can easily lead to isolation. It's why a safe space for introspection and tapping into what's possible next is essential for any business owner committed to playing at the highest levels of iconic possible to them.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Believe in yourself and understand that the dream is the first manifestation of your reality.
  2. Connect with the right people. There are way too many 'struggling' groups taking advice from others who are in the same boat. You want to get around people who have been around the block and then raise your game to play on their field.
  3. Be willing to reinvent. One of the greatest reasons I've seen businesses not making it through the tough times is an unwillingness to go back to the drawing board when something doesn't work. Many will see this as determination. However, it stems from a fear of appearing a failure or foolish. Allow your visions to be fluid so you can grow with them whilst continuously moving forward.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Your business is a tool for your personal growth and evolution. In this, you have a responsibility to show up as your absolute best self, including your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states of being. If you find yourself getting drained and depleted, you're in fear consciousness and doing more harm than good.

Instead, choose to play at a level of excellence because that is ultimately what is needed today: Iconic leaders who embody their legacy - unleashed, unlimited, unafraid.
