Tell us about yourself
Through trial and error throughout my career, I figured out effective ways to land interviews, get noticed by recruiters, and negotiate salaries. I started getting work colleagues coming to me for career advice and seeking help knowing their workplace rights.
It gave me a sense of fulfillment, helping them be more assertive and go after their career goals. I then decided to see if I had a viable business by conducting phone coaching, which started to pick up. From there, I built a website and developed coaching modules on topics my clients said were the biggest obstacles to their career growth.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being able to see the results from coaching, from a client landing the offer for her dream job to helping a client negotiate a 30% pay raise that they never thought possible.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Managing time and wearing many hats when running the business solo.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find a problem that you know how to solve in your unique way.
- Test to see if someone will pay you for your knowledge to solve the problem.
- Delegate tasks to others to save time, so you can focus on where you can add the most value.
