Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jenna Mcdonald, Owner of Devoted Yogi, located in Bainbridge Island, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Devoted Yogi is a training studio dedicated to devotional and embodiment-based yoga instruction. Our lineage is both Vedic and of the wild woman tradition, rooted in body-based wisdom. I lead and collaborate on 200hr /300hr YTT courses with some weekly classes and workshops.

Tell us about yourself

I am a devotee of life and the divine mother as represented in all women. I often serve in-depth coaching courses for women and men who love them.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My recent 300 Hr Yoga Training comprised of personal journey work, asana, philosophy, and embodied leadership skills.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Consistency as a mother - entrepreneur.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Let your purpose trump your pain. It’s not easy running up against the roadblocks of others' opinions, risk-taking, and self-care that business ownership asks us to confront.
  2. Listen - slow down and come out of the FOMO and scarcity that business is so wrought with.
  3. Finally, find people and friendships that can bring positivity and integrity into your experience.
