What's your business, and who are your customers?
Design By Sevd is a multidisciplinary branding studio that offers brand strategy, brand identity design, web design, and packaging, working globally. I help passionate business owners who have big dreams and are not scared to take big leaps on their journey. By creating strategically designed brand identities, I help entrepreneurs create the brand of their dreams.
Tell us about yourself
Helping people build their dream life is what I am passionate about. The reason behind my passion lies at the very beginning of my education life. I had to study many things and do the things I don't love, but just to make a life of it. I studied theology, translations, and photography, but none of them made me feel content. So when I started designing, I felt the passion immediately. I knew that I wanted to live my life designing brands and creating experiences. So, creating strategy-driven brands is my way of helping other people ditch their unwanted jobs and lifestyles and start being in control of the paths to their dream lives. In doing so, I believe that I am making the world a better place, one brand at a time.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Freedom. Freedom that comes with being my own boss and spending my days with what I'm passionate about. Freedom that I help other business owners gain a brand identity that is both strategically crafted to create an emotional connection with its target audience and designed beautifully and artfully, that helps them build a business that stands out, making their dreams bloom. The freedom that I feel and provide is my biggest accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
For me, it is imposter syndrome. As a detailed person, I sometimes find myself that I don't even think I am good enough. When it is your own business, you are the one who needs to be believing in it. There are some times when no one believes in your business, and you are the only one who should believe in it. Finding the energy within yourself continuously can be exhausting. But that is part of the job. You just have to keep walking toward your dreams without stopping.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- It doesn't matter if it's not perfect. Keep moving forward and make it better, one step at a time. None of us is actually 100% "figured it out".
- Learn new things each day. Never stop being where you are, thinking that you learned everything. Learning new perspectives and skills is the best thing you can do for your business.
- Don't be afraid to invest in your business. If you want to become a high-end, luxury business wanting to be successful, you need to be equipped with luxury and look luxurious. The return on your investment will be your dreams come true.
