Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Derek Lettich, Co-Founder of Right 2 Fitness, located in Dubois, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are Right 2 Fitness, and we work one on one with busy women and moms remotely to help them with their nutrition, fitness, and routine to lose weight, trim inches, and improve their overall health.

Tell us about yourself

My wife Vanessa and I used to be Health and Physical Education teachers. We have a deep passion for spreading health education and also motivating people to become more involved in their own physical, emotional, and all-around health.

While teaching, we were also nutrition coaches and personal trainers for our local community. Vanessa created a safe place for women of the community to come and receive fitness training, and I worked with women one on one with their fitness in a gym.

Finally, after years of helping women separately, we combined our expertise to create Right 2 Fitness and began helping women from all around the world. We realized that we had found our passion and our purpose in this world, and we decided to resign from teaching to pursue our business full time. We have not looked back since and couldn't be happier.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating an exciting and purposeful life with my amazing and talented wife, Vanessa.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I believe the hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is actually something that not a lot of business owners speak about specifically. When you are a business owner, it's all on you. Good, bad, stressful, exciting. It's all on you to wake up every morning, keep yourself accountable and build consistency to keep the business moving ahead. But when you do find that purpose and passion, these things are all worth it in the end.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Surround yourself with people that have more experience than you, are smarter than you, and are going to expect excellence from you.
  2. Never stop learning. Always invest in education to better yourself.
  3. Lead your business as a good person, not to make money. People can tell when someone is being genuine or not. If they trust you, they will work with you. Be a good person, and the rewards will come.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Be passionate, be exciting but also be prepared. You can never be too prepared. Keep your records, do the little things, and don't let anything get swept under the rug.
