Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Veronica Hernandez, Owner of Deep Rooted Healing, located in Lakewood, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

In my business, I assist others in their internal healing. My clients are those that have had trauma, mental illness, transitional difficulty, poverty, parenting uncertainty, and guidance in entrepreneurship thru empowerment. I use multiple modalities proven by both science and spirituality. Behavioral science and world indigenous cultures have been my teachers.

Tell us about yourself

My business started at four years old. I prayed that I would someday be able to help others that are just like me. Since the age of 4, I felt my connection to God, and since then, I have devoted my life to not only developing my own personal power but also assisting others with developing themselves. I was raised by a minority Schizophrenic mother.

My mother's illness is what started my obsession with behavioral science. The guidance I was given thru my connection with God led me around the world, seeking healing and wisdom thru my own lessons. I have worked since 11 and started my first business at 19 years of age. I have owned hair salons, a nightclub, and healing centers and assisted with multiple startups.

Most importantly, I have volunteered thousands of hours and donated thousands of hours to underprivileged communities. My journey has led to breaking cycles and empowering others to believe in their own abilities. Especially those that have believed that their circumstances would never allow them to achieve success and internal peace. I have been honored to not only assist so many with personal development but also the gift of breaking generational trauma for generations that follow.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My greatest accomplishment thru my healing business has been being invited to do sound therapy for thousands of people at this year's bitcoin convention. I believe that making healing and personal development mainstream is the way to heal the world. Having an open discussion with people about stigmas and trauma is empowering to us all.

We can understand that we are all human, and we are all connected. Simply sharing my passion with so many people from all over the world empowered me to grow my audience. Sharing all the tools that have empowered me thru my journey has been exactly what I prayed for as a little girl.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of my biggest challenges has been charging for my services and learning to fill my own cup before giving to others.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My first tip is to make sure you operate out of love and not fear.
Start each business off small. Allow your profit to finance your growth so that you don't start out in debt. Last, don't be afraid to ask for and accept help from others.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I am currently working on my autobiography and creating a series of oracle card decks to assist with personal development. I believe that creating extensions of myself can be of great benefit to others from a distance. When we heal ourselves, we also heal those around us. My mission has been to share the tools that saved my life.
