What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a personal development sidekick. Ambitious and altruistic young professionals work with me to get clear on what they really want and how they are going to create it.
Tell us about yourself
I became obsessed with personal development when I was in college. More moved by what I was learning outside of the classroom, I left school and started my own manufacturing startup. I thought I knew how to create the life I wanted because of what I read in books. Motivated yet isolated, no longer with my peers, I learned the hard way that life is about connection. I became certified by the International Coaching Federation so I can help other people create the life they truly want, which means a life of contribution beyond themselves.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My greatest accomplishments are the victories my clients have had as a result of our conversations. I have helped clients gain insights that led to a range of deep results, including finding a life partner, getting out of an unhealthy relationship, taking their passion projects from gathering dust to moving in the world, finding a much better job, saving business partnerships, and more.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Not being able to go through the motions to have your bills covered. Being fully accountable for my results. Sharing my art with the world and fully facing all fear and doubt.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't think you need to leap suddenly; ease your way into it.
- Only try to start a business if you really really care about your product. Having a job is easier.
- Don't forget to enjoy your life. Be present and connected with others.
