What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a soap making business. My customers are from the youngest to the oldest! Those who want a soap that's really great for any skin type. I also have customers who have Eczema/Psoriasis who really love our soap.
Tell us about yourself
I have been making soap since 1999. I started it to try and find something to help my daughter's eczema. It worked! After three years of study, trial and error, I finally came up with a perfect recipe. I started in my kitchen, moved to my basement, and then to one of the bays in our garage to announce brick and mortar storefront and warehouse.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Opening my brick-and-mortar storefront was huge for me. It’s now been open for six years!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being able to turn it all off and rest.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- It’s not easy, but if you love your product and your customers, you can do it if you’re determined.
- Be sure to have top-notch customer service.
- Don’t overextend yourself. It leads to burnout.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I love soap making as much as when I first started. It makes working every day so much more rewarding because I love it.
