What's your business, and who are your customers?

Wise Mind Nutrition is an app-based personalized nutrition education program designed to improve mental wellness. It is a transformative journey for people looking to use food to boost their mood and improve gut and brain health. While most nutrition programs are focused on changing weight and fitness, this revolutionary program is designed to improve the quality of life of people with depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, and disordered eating. Wise Mind Nutrition aims to change the way people think and talk about food and is a perfect fit for anyone on a healing journey.

Tell us about yourself

I am the founder of Nutrition in Recovery, a group private practice of registered dietitian nutritionists working in mental and behavioral health. Our work has been transformative in improving recovery outcomes. Unfortunately, insurance coverage for nutrition services is limited; therefore, only people from socially advantaged groups are able to engage in treatment services. After receiving a doctorate in public health, I became much more interested in helping disadvantaged groups access treatment and care. Thus, Wise Mind Nutrition was born to create affordable nutrition services so that everyone could access science-based tools for improving mental health through nutrition.
