What's your business, and who are your customers?
I operate in the field of residential real estate and cater to individuals who are purchasing or selling homes. Additionally, I run a sales and marketing business focused on project development that serves developers.
Tell us about yourself
I met my mentor when I was a waiter. I've always loved helping people, understanding their needs and wants, and finding a way to achieve them. Real estate was never a career I knew or thought about before, but once I entered into real estate, I knew I had found my niche and passion.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I love mentoring other real estate agents, so I formed a real estate team. I have team members who have worked with me for over 14 years. I have created an environment where a team can flourish. As a whole, the real estate industry can be very tough, get very lonely, and push you down, but when you have a team environment, everyone makes each other better.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As a business owner in real estate, you wake up every day basically unemployed. You have to go and get the work. You can't just sit back and wait for it to come to you. If you don't put two feet on the ground every morning and go after it, you will not succeed in the industry.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't just copy. Make it your own. Find out how to do things your way.
- Always learn.
- Make time for yourself - professional growth, your family, and personally.
