Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Diana Dorell, Founder of Dancing Goddess LLC., located in Gilbert, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My company, Dancing Goddess LLC, empowers people to lead lives of grace, love, and magic through intuitive readings, energy healing, spiritual coaching, courses, products, and events. We work primarily with women looking to feel more confident in their love lives and strengthen their spiritual connection with themselves.

Tell us about yourself

I began doing oracle readings in the Bay Area for fun. Through word of mouth, I soon landed my online radio show, taught intuition classes, and started my business! I eventually got certified as a coach and found that people always wanted to speak to me about love and dating! My specialty is relationships. I love that every day is different, and nothing brings me joy more than seeing a client have an ah-ha moment and step into their Truth and confidence.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

This is my 11th year in business, and I am very proud as the company grows and evolves with me. I'm always looking to see how I can reach more people! The world needs more people who are turned on by their life and happy with themselves and who they are-so. Whatever I can do to contribute to that, I'm on board!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

A few things are simple, but they can be challenges. In many instances, you are the business. So the responsibility of it all falling on your shoulders and reminding yourself that it's okay to take care of yourself, but you don't get to quit can be challenging, especially on days when you aren't operating at your best or fall into self-doubt, which happens to everyone!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your strengths and where you shine-where it feels natural and easy and hire out the rest to people who are great at that. It will be worth it, and your business will thrive!
  2. Test it out-give yourself a time limit, let's say three months, to see how you like being your business owner-if you are in the coaching/mentoring business, get testimonials from clients you work with to build your credibility and confidence and see what works and what doesn't.
  3. Create systems early on. What days do you work with clients or customers? When are you off? When do you take care of the bookkeeping/finances? When do you send invoices? What is your lead-generation strategy, and when do you do that? Hire a coach if you need support and direction with this. Systems will save you so much time!
