Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kristina Reeves, Founder of Dance and Heels LLC., located in Columbus, OH, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Dance And Heels is a sensual dance company focusing on building self-esteem and self-confidence. We focus on helping relationships build intimacy through dance, building trust and vulnerability. My clientele is anyone who loves dancing, wants to get fit without going to the gym, wants to relieve stress in a fun atmosphere, and also those who are looking to explore their sensual and feminine side.
Tell us about yourself
I started Dance And Heels in May 2015; I built this company from observation experience and conversing with my community on how to have self-love, self-confidence to be comfortable in your own skin, and the success of a happy, healthy relationship. I have enrolled in Arizona State University to obtain a bachelor's degree in psychology to apply this with Dance And Heels as not just a physical but also a mental stimulant of growth. I want to help my community find balance. I am motivated every day by knowing that I have a daughter in the younger generation looking up to me as a role model and at the success that Dance And Heels has had since 2015. I’m motivated every day knowing that this is only the beginning.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
One of my biggest accomplishments as a business owner is knowing that my clients have had the experience I created for them; I see the smiles, the joy, the self-love in each of my clients, as well as the feedback I receive about the impact my classes have had on their lives.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I feel the hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is being consistent. To wake up every day with the same passion, same drive, and same motivation to push a product to the world, knowing that everyone is not going to agree or like your product, but for you to still have that same love from the first day you decided to become a business owner/entrepreneur.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Surround yourself with people who want to see you win and who believes in you.
- Take your time and focus on what you’re offering to people to build a bond with your community.
- Never give up. Every day take time to focus on what you’re offering and enjoy each and every small accomplishment.
