Adorable Products to Brighten Your Day - daisyblossomshop

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Blossom C, Owner of daisyblossomshop, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

daisyblossomshop isn't for one specific type of person or people but for everyone who needs a pick-me-up. With cute stationery items that are perfect for notebooks, cellphones, laptops, planners, walls, and other decorative surfaces, everyday items can make you smile.

Tell us about yourself

daisyblossomshop focuses primarily on the little things that can make your day brighter. It's no secret that life is challenging, and it seems as if the past two years or so have been especially disheartening when I think about how I mitigated that time personally. I attribute a lot of my strength to small things that could make me smile. That inspired me to start daisyblossomshop—because the little things are not so little and have the power to provide even the smallest amount of solace when you really need it! I firmly believe that if you have something that you can contribute to make the world a brighter place, you should share it!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The courage it took to actually start my business. As those before me will know, it takes a lot of work, dedication, and sometimes blind faith to invest time, energy, and money into a business. It was probably the hardest thing I've ever done, and it will likely be the most rewarding experience of my life.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Making products is definitely one of the hardest things. Creatives are not just a bundle of energy and inspiration: creativity wanes and flows, and you can go weeks without being able to produce a product you're proud of and is up to your standards. Finding that balance between making products and nurturing your creativity can be really difficult.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

One, do what you love first and foremost. Many tips for new business owners discuss niches and competition, and while these things are important, it's equally as important to make sure that you are passionate about what you're doing and sharing with the world. At the end of the day, it isn't money or website clicks that will keep you going; it's your love for your craft and the pride of producing products that you are truly proud of.
