Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Elisha Vidalin, Founder of Daily Ritual, located in Victoria, BC, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Daily Ritual is an online movement and wellness community featuring live Zoom classes, Zoom recordings, pre-recorded movement, breathwork, meditation video library, community space, and more! We teach what we call: the practice- a continuous mind-body awareness evolution.
The practice is naturally aligned, dynamic, intuitive, balancing, and primal. The practice is less exercises we show up to do but an invitation to embody this practice as a lifestyle. We also teach conscious connected breathwork and meditation classes weekly.
Tell us about yourself
I love to move; this is my heart. Breathwork is my medicine. And sharing this passion is my purpose. These practices keep me vibrant, fit, and feeling alive!
I haven't needed a chiropractor, physiotherapist, or psychologist EVER- and I attribute this to my personal practices that help to keep me feeling good in body, mind, heart, and soul. I want to share this with the world. These practices are what keep me lit up, feeling good, and showing up in the ways that I do.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Perseverance. As most entrepreneurs will know- staying true, committed, and devoted to your passion and projects is imperative. I am dedicated to making this community successful- I lead from the heart, and I trust that this is the way forward and will be seen and felt.
My biggest accomplishment is MAKING it work even when it's been hard. Business isn't always easy, but it is easy to keep showing up for the students who love and show up for this community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
In the initial stages of creating this business, I made some pretty expensive mistakes! The hardest thing is paying those mistakes back... haha! But, with those mistakes, I have learned so much. Those mistakes will never happen again.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do what you love. Lead from your heart. TRUST! And, find yourself someone that you can trust to help guide you toward the best choices- make sure they are doing something similar to you.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I can't imagine working for anyone else- ever again. Entrepreneurship isn't risk-free, and it comes with a LOT of responsibility- but at the end of the day- you can trust yourself to do the work... and it's really always you against you. There is more security in working for yourself than working for someone else any day of the year.
Believe that! You can do it.
