Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Georgia Homsany, founder and CEO of Daily Dose LLC., located in Raleigh, NC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Helping employees create work-life balance and avoid burnout through wellness breaks during the workday. Our customers are mid-size businesses looking to invest in the well-being of their staff. Daily Dose runs workshops, lunch and learns, and 30-day challenges to instill healthy habits for people to adopt.

Tell us about yourself

I began my career in Marketing & Brand Management before starting Daily Dose. After spending over 15 years in corporate America and burning out in the industry I was in, I wanted to help others in the corporate setting by providing virtual "wellness breaks" to give employees the time needed to prevent burnout and promote positive mental health.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Starting a business during COVID and still growing under challenging circumstances. Also participating in 11 speaking engagements in less than two years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Having patience with corporations that look at wellness as a "nice to have" instead of a "need to have" and accepting long lead times around decision making. Also, feeling like you have to do it all, including the tasks you have no interest in doing!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you address a need and not just start a business based on what you want to do.
  2. Hire a business coach to help with the mindset (i.e., imposter syndrome and other things that can get in the way of your success).
  3. Look at sales differently. Instead of thinking you are bothering or nagging people, think of it as you have a responsibility to let people know about this product or service that can help them.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We'd love to help managers looking to inspire their teams. We have some non-traditional programs to help with project management, stress, burnout, anxiety, and decision making.
