What's your business, and who are your customers?
CultureRx is a management consulting firm and your guide to adopting the proprietary RESULTS-ONLY WORK ENVIRONMENT (ROWE). Our customers are organizations who are ready to go beyond flexibility and break away from the status quo.
Tell us about yourself
ROWE began as an innovation experiment at Best Buy headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2003. We were questioning how the way we work was producing the best outcomes for the company and the most equitable experience for the employees. From there, the RESULTS-ONLY WORK ENVIRONMENT was born and grew out of the need to create an environment where every single person would thrive and the company could achieve desired results.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishments were the release of two best-selling management books, Why Work Sucks and How To Fix It in 2008 and Why Managing Sucks and How to Fix It in 2013.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is the need to wear many hats. With that, there is a steep learning curve required to accomplish tasks of which you have no prior experience or knowledge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Patience: Success doesn’t happen overnight.
- Persistence: If you believe in your idea, you’ll need persistence to see it come to fruition.
- Courage: Keep going. There are days when you’ll need to find the courage to step into new experiences with confidence.
