What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a digital publisher in the food space. We create well-developed, carefully-tested recipes for readers across the web.
Tell us about yourself
I started my food blog in 2011 before "blogging" was a serious career choice. I have always loved to cook and wanted to share my recipes with the world. I continued to learn more about food and cooking, and, in 2016, I enrolled in Culinary School. I completed the program in Culinary Arts in 2018. I am motivated by a serious desire to help people find success in the kitchen and enjoy cooking.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Supporting hard-working people with real jobs (aka growing my team).
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staying focused on the most important task at hand. There are always a lot of things that come up (technical, financial, managerial), but I also have real work to do. It's a constant juggling act.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Understand trade-offs. There are only so many hours in a day, so to start something new, you will probably have to sacrifice something else.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
There are new successful business ideas and "rising stars" every day, so don't lean on the excuse of "the market is saturated." But be prepared to work hard to separate yourself.
