Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Crista Beck, a Dating Coach, and Matchmaker based in Austin, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Dating can be tough. You spend hours swiping through profiles only to find yourself disappointed with the results. Or maybe you've been burned in the past, and you're just tired of the whole dating scene. If you're looking for someone who can help you find love again, look no further.

As a dating coach and matchmaker with 13+ years of experience and expertise, I'll be able to help you avoid the mistakes you've made in the past and be your personal guide through the dating world. People come to her when they are ready to find a real connection with a quality person that has long-term potential.

Tell us about yourself

Over the last 25 years, I have been passionate about meditation, personal development, spirituality, communication, and relationships, meditating for over 20,000 hours throughout my life. For 9 years, I personally trained people all over the United States in meditation, helping hundreds of people learn how to meditate and find peace within themselves. I believe in the power of REAL LOVE, and its ability to change the world.

I am also an award-winning violinist. In high school, I competed at the county and state levels in New York. Then in college, I electrified that thing, taking my violin to the rock and roll stage and playing out in clubs.

As a speaker and workshop facilitator, I integrate my passion & wisdom learned as a musician and meditator to teach people how to be beautifully in tune with themselves as they embark on their journey to find love.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being a podcast host and author of the Amazon best-selling book, Break The Glass Slipper: Free Yourself of Fairy Tale Fantasies and Find True Love in Real Life.

In this paradigm-shifting dating guide, I expose the societal fantasies about dating and relationships that sabotage our ability to attract a healthy and happy long-term relationship.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about running a business is that, in the beginning, you're wearing so many hats. You're the CEO, the CFO, the COO, and everything in between. It's a lot of work, and it can be overwhelming. But if you have a clear vision for your business and you're passionate about what you're doing, it's all worth it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Follow your passion: If you're not excited about what you're doing, it's going to be tough to put in the long hours and effort required to make your business successful. Find something you're truly passionate about, and go for it!
  2. Do your research: There's a lot of information out there on how to start and grow a business - take advantage of it! Read books, articles, blogs, etc., to gain as much knowledge as you can. And then, find a mentor who is in a similar business you want to be in and allow yourself to learn from their mistakes and successes.
  3. Be flexible: The business world is ever-changing, so be prepared to adapt as needed. Things won't always go to plan - it's how you react when things don't go your way that will determine your success or failure.
