What's your business, and who are your customers?
Crescere Strategies is a management consulting firm for organizations aiming to have an impact on society. Non-profit organizations and businesses that want to improve people's lives come to our firm to build measurable plans to achieve their bold goals.
Tell us about yourself
I am a social entrepreneur with expertise in elementary and secondary education. I served in the government, non-profit, and business sectors to ensure people thrive. I opened my business to support start-up organizations building learning products for school-age children. I am motivated to support clients in developing actionable and tracking their progress to goals.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Crescere Strategies LLC's most significant accomplishment was engaging the community of Alexandria City to increase school safety. The work was done through a multi-pronged plan that engaged the media, business partners, policymakers, and interested citizens to encourage collaboration city-wide and establish operating improvements, new programs, and laws that support school safety.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The most challenging part of owning a business is self-promotion. One successful project leads to another, but to grow at scale, businesses need to promote the impact of their work. Telling your client's story doesn't always feel like telling your own.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just start! Mistakes are inevitable but recovering and adapting show that you can succeed despite challenges.
- Try multiple lines of business that you are good at. You never know what is going to stick in the market.
- Have fun. That's why you are running your own show, right? You want to enjoy your work. Enjoy the amazing things you accomplish on behalf of your clients.
