Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey by launching a wellness business but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Amanda Zaidman, owner and lead therapist of the Constructive Parenting, PLLC., based in Charlotte, NC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a licensed clinical social worker, and my business provides a space for children and parents who want help learning how to cope with difficult emotions so that their connections with each other can thrive.

Tell us about yourself

After taking a break from my career to be with my young children, I returned to the therapy field and wanted control over my schedule and what population I served. I am motivated to work with children and parents each day because these relationships deserve nurturing and fulfillment.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being well respected in my field for my work.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is learning how to set clear boundaries between work and home life. When you work for yourself, it can be easy to find yourself working or thinking about your business 24/7. Having good boundaries is the best form of self-care.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top 3 tips would be to take a business course, learn how to create a social media and internet presence, and never lose sight of the importance of balance in your life.
