Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jimmy Clare, Founder of CrazyFitnessGuy, located in Ambler, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is called Crazyfitnessguy. My target audience is people on and off the autism spectrum looking for motivation to live healthier lives, pursue their dreams, and learn more about Autism from an autistic point of view.

Tell us about yourself

I am a motivational speaker, Autism Advocate, author, and founder of CrazyFitnessGuy. I started my website to practice becoming a better writer after my first writing class in college. I knew I couldn't write in a Google doc or Word doc over and over again. I knew I needed to come back each and every day to become a better writer. When I first started my website, it was going to be another health and wellness website with workout programs on it. When I enrolled in college, I was majoring in personal training. After switching majors five times in college, I decided to major in media studies to perfect my speaking abilities. Once I changed my major to media studies, I changed the focus on my website to make it more motivational and inspirational from my Autistic perspective.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being a guest on 100+ podcasts, being featured in New York City Times Square, one of my articles being published in the Autism Parenting Magazine, and many other articles published by 16+ publications. I was also featured on Australia TV!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest parts about being a business owner is finding the right balance between work and life. There are so many things I focus on for my business, but I know I can't do everything all in one day. With all the extra side projects, college, podcasts, guest articles, podcast appearances, weekly live streams, marketing, writing articles for Crazyfitnessguy, and so much more. I learned to balance only a handful of tasks each and every day to make everything a little more manageable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do not listen to the naysayers because they will think your dream and business is a joke or a waste of time.
  2. Surround yourself with like-minded people to help motivate you when things are slow.
  3. Do not let yourself become complacent. Always continue to learn; do not think you know everything because there is always something new to learn.
