What's your business, and who are your customers?
Craved Creations is a custom cake, cookie, and cupcake bakery. We specialize in custom-designed orders, but we also have a storefront for daily treats and walk-ins. We have the most amazing local customers! They come to us for everything from daily treats to wedding cakes. We love being a part of their special days!
Tell us about yourself
I graduated with my bachelor's in business seven years ago. While I was in school, I started my business from home. Right after I graduated at age 24, I got married, and my family and I opened the bakery one year later.
It was the best decision I've ever made! We have been open for six years, and I love every day of it. My love for my customers, employees, and job motivates me to do better daily. It taught me how important it is to love your career!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner would be supporting my family with this job I love and growing more and more each year that we are open.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a business owner is that your work never ends. Even on your off days, you will still be working somehow. That is why it's so important to love it!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips I would give to someone looking to start a business are:
- Know that it is impossible to please everyone. Go in with a mindset that you will do your very best and be happy with that.
- Even on exhausting days, be grateful that you have a business supporting your family.
- With every hurdle, you hit to grow your business, remind yourself it's not easy. If it were easy, everyone would do it. That will help motivate you not to give up!
