Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Justin Wise, CEO of Cracking Cryptocurrency, located in Des Moines, IA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is Cracking Cryptocurrency, a trading and education platform. We build software and strategies for traders, teach traders how to build objective strategies, provide trading signals and recommendations, and provide trade automation, and mentoring services.

Tell us about yourself

I attained my degree in Entrepreneurship and, at a young age, built and sold my first company. I used the funds to bankroll my trading career. After years of successful trading, I realized that there was a complete lack of reliable platforms to learn how to trade, improve your skills, and grow. So I decided to build the solution. We've now mentored thousands of students from all over the world. The results I've seen from our students and clients have been amazing, and I'm inspired to continue researching new strategies, new opportunities, and new ways to improve myself and, as an extension, our community.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm extremely proud of successfully bringing together and organizing our diverse team of analysts and traders. Bringing together high-performers from different disciplines and uniting them on a common goal has been incredible to watch and participate in.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As we deal in the volatile cryptocurrency markets, positive results and negative results are both amplified to a degree not often seen in traditional finance. The highs are very high, and the lows can be very low from an emotional and psychological standpoint. Maintaining a clear head, focusing on long-term goals and growth, and being able to inspire and confidently lead your team and maintain the trust of your clients can be a challenge at times. The best way is to be true to your core values, continually look to challenge and reexamine your views and beliefs, and focus on people first.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand very well who you are and what you stand for. As you become successful, you will encounter situations and opportunities that may challenge your moral fabric. Staying true to your core values and having firm core values ensures you can make it through the challenging times of being an entrepreneur or business owner.
  2. Focus on people first. Nothing grows within a vacuum, and you cannot do it all yourself. Focus on quality people, and be committed to making their experience with you and your company positive.
  3. Be authentic. You will have ups and downs, but as long as you stay true to yourself and your customers, you will have a firm foundation to be supported.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Being a human is a hard job. When you first start out, it's easy to be intimidated or think that larger players or entities have all the answers and have it all figured out. They don't; we're all in this together. Never doubt yourself or your ability to do something great.
