What's your business, and who are your customers?
Cosset makes and distributes bath bombs. Our bath bombs contain all of the ingredients to create a therapeutic bath. We call them Therapy Bombs. Our customers use them as part of their daily self-care.
Tell us about yourself
I have lots of hobbies. One such hobby started back in 2007, creating bath products. In 2013, I started to put a lot more effort into this hobby. I had been working as a medical device recruiter, and in March 2014, I decided it was time for a change. I was tired of building everyone else's business. On March 31, 2014, I quit my job and started Cosset.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
What a good question. I think all business owners would tell us that, some days, you feel like a complete failure, and others, you feel like a rock star. I love being able to coach my teams to solve their own problems. Learning how to coach through questions is by far my biggest accomplishment. I am not a big fan of awards, personally.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Managing stress comes in waves. There will be times of great success, but there will also be times when you feel like everything is falling apart. Take a deep breath and remember why you did this in the first place, what are your core values, and what is the purpose and vision of the company.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Track your key metrics. Just because you think it is a good idea doesn't mean that it is. Test and verify everything. If you roll out a new SKU or product, do it incrementally and make sure that it is selling and resonating with your consumer. When you can see that it is doing well, scale it bigger, one step at a time.
