What's your business, and who are your customers?
I’m a General Photographer, you see I live in a small area, so I have to be versatile. My clients are virtually anyone looking for photos. From singles to models, from families to betrothed. Some want photos of their property to sell others need photos for school or business.
Tell us about yourself
I’ve always had a love for photography. I remember I took a photography class in high school using an old DSLR and 35mm film. But you see, I come from a less privileged family, and we couldn’t afford a move camera for me, so it fell by the wayside. Years later, as an adult, I rediscovered my passion, enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography, learned all I could, and just kept pursuing it. As for my motivation, well, you see, it’s a rare thing to be able to show people the world through your eyes…rare but magical, and that’s what keeps me motivated.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment, well, I’d have to say, being featured in galleries around the world as I am this year… yeah, I think that’s my biggest accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Finding your starting clients that’s never easy, but once you do, they never seem to stop flowing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Research what your business entails, plan for any and all equipment and scenarios that could happen, and finally, have a backup plan just in case. After all, you still need to eat.
