What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help real estate investors and agents get crystal clear on their goals and vision and then create a plan to implement the steps necessary so they can achieve financial freedom. This includes planning, goal setting, training, and ongoing accountability.

Tell us about yourself

I built a lifestyle business through real estate that allows me time and money freedom that I wouldn't change for the world. I want everyone to experience the joy of waking up and doing what they love and spending time with the important people in their life each and every day. I started investing in real estate in 1992 when I was 24. This led me to become a licensed realtor and eventually own a real estate brokerage, property management company, and full-time investment firm. After buying & selling over 700 houses and building a portfolio that provides financial and time freedom, I couldn't help but start sharing with others how to do the same.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Living the life of my dreams and sharing it with others each and every day!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Knowing what to say no to. Once you reach a certain level of success, opportunities come along every day. It's easy to get swept up in the next shiny object or get sidelined without vision and focus. Getting clear on your goals and values is 100% key, but it's not enough. You then need the plan to implement accountability, and that's where many fall short.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I wish I could give three tips for each phase because there are different roles and functions for each stage - starting, running, and growing.

  1. Trust your instincts - your gut is a huge barometer, embrace it and listen to it.
  2. Be resilient - there are very few things in this world that are impossible and can't be done. It may not be the way you initially thought it would get done, but that's ok. Figure out another way. Sometimes you have to go around, on top of, below, or through obstacles but get it done!
  3. Take care of the people who support your success - treat them well, communicate, share your vision and goals and how they are a part of it, make them feel special and valued, reward them with what's important to them, and don't think it's always money. Get to know them and their values!
