Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Corliss Rassyle, CEO of Corliss Co Consulting Inc., located in Prince Albert, SK, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Corliss Co. serves those who feel stuck, are at a crossroads, or feel like something is missing... find their fire again!

Tell us about yourself

After more than two decades as an entrepreneur in direct sales, coaching and mentoring independent entrepreneurs to meet their goals, I felt called to support women outside my organization. This inspired me to use my skills, experiences, and training to help people better their lives. It was the purpose for starting Corliss Co., and it remains today. Seeing the positive impact of this work motivates me, and whether I am speaking, coaching, writing, or podcasting, I never lose sight of why I am doing what I am doing.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am very proud to lead by example. I never ask anyone to do what I am not willing to do myself; usually, that means I am a step or two ahead of my clients, but allowing myself to be on the journey with them makes me proud as I can share and lead with heart, authenticity, and vulnerability.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a business owner, there are many challenges in growing, evolving, and scaling a business, but I would say the hardest thing has been stretching myself to believe I am capable of doing all three and developing a mindset that allows that belief.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Keep growing yourself. You are leading, and leading requires you to keep growing.
  2. Know why you are doing this. It will help you push through fears, get up to go to work (even when you don't feel like it), and keep you moving forward.
  3. Don't be afraid to ask for help. There are many resources out there, and by tapping into them, you can save yourself time and heartache.
