Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Stephanie Greene, Copywriter & Editor of Copy By Steph, located in Sayreville, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a Coach and Copywriter helping Coaches & Small Business Owners capitalize on their words to build stronger connections and make more money in the online space.

Tell us about yourself

I've always loved wordsmithing! For as long as I can remember, I loved writing and helping other people improve their writing. Back in 2018, I started searching for side hustles to supplement my teaching salary and came across Copywriting. I had no idea it was a career option after I got my BA in Journalism, and within a month of doing my research, I was hooked. Fast forward to April 2020, and I officially LLC'd myself. I love being able to help other women in business to reach their full potential with systems, words, and copy. And the best part? I know my work helps coaches to impact a wider audience and make more money!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

After two years in business, I've crossed over the 6-figure milestone in lifetime sales and left my career in education to run my business full time! I literally can't even believe that life gets to be this cool.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

By far, the HARDEST part of being a small business owner is the MINDSET! After every win or setback, there's always another set of challenges that comes with the mindset piece. If you're interested in starting a business or already have one, intentional mindset work is an absolute must to stay in the right headspace and not let the little things set off a domino effect of negative feelings.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start - don't wait for the right moment or for a time when you know what to do. Put up your first post on social and get yourself started.
  2. Don't let fear hold you back - the best business owners are doing it scared.
  3. Keep going, even when it feels hard. The payoff is ALWAYS worth it in the end.
