Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Heather Fleming, owner and founder of Conscious Nutrition, located in Cardiff By The Sea, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the founder of Conscious Nutrition, helping people learn how TO eat emotionally. We are not robots; we are dynamic, emotional beings. Learning how to work with your emotions, feelings, and comfort eating will help us become more accepting of ourselves versus critical.

Tell us about yourself

I became a nutritionist because...I had a very complicated relationship with food, plus digestive issues and allergies from childhood. Once I realized I didn't have to beat myself up to be healthier, I had to share my tips, insights, and program with the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

That I am still in business after 15 years. And that I say yes more often than no.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Marketing my services to the right people at the right time; they are ready for it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Stay simple and keep in your lane of genius. Try not to help everyone; instead, help the people who are ready for your genius.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Nutrition has morphed over the last 20 years, so learning to adjust, stay creative and be open to what feels good.
